Preschool Openings

The Auburn-Washburn School District is pleased to announce openings in the district-wide, half-day, four year old preschool programs located at Pauline Central, Auburn Elementary, Farley Elementary, and Wanamaker Elementary schools for the 2013-14 school year.

This is a free program designed to prepare children to succeed in district Kindergarten programs. Free transportation may be provided to students who live in the Auburn-Washburn district. A one-time $25 tuition payment is required for the school year.

Applications are available at each Auburn-Washburn elementary school, or Shuler Education Center, located at and 53rd Street and Wanamaker Road. Students must be four years old by August 31, live in the Auburn-Washburn School District, and meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Evaluated and has a delay in development
  • Primary language is other than English
  • One parent was 19 or younger at child's birth
  • Single parent family
  • Referral from SRS for this child
  • Parents are migratory agricultural workers
  • Qualifies for free school lunch program
